Adult Literacy, Education & Computer Centers

Career aptitude and interest assessments, academic ability and personality profiles are used to help participants develop realistic career goals.  During pre-employment training, individuals assess their skills, career interests and educational competencies in order to develop a personal career plan. Computer labs provide instruction in computer literacy and prepare individuals for employment using current software applications. Pre-GED, English as a Second Language and remedial instruction in math and reading is also available.

Volunteers of America Dakotas Career Learning Center in Sioux Falls was established in 1983. The Career Learning Center offers education and employment training to high-school drop-outs. The Career Learning Center annually helps more than 700 individuals earn their GED or high school diploma. Participants build self-confidence and identify personal strengths.
